bluetickhound Posted June 22, 2013 Report Share Posted June 22, 2013 (edited) As I have now been at this for a little over a year I wanted to take a moment to reflect and say thanks to all of you who have been so helpful and generous to me... First off, i have made so many new friends here... Usually on any forum there are one or two bad eggs to stay away from but I have experienced none of that here... Even the guy who dressed me down day one about the search function has shown himself to be a really good guy! Secondly, I have found something in myself I never knew I had.... My brother has always been the artist in the family but even he (who could care less about fishing... Poor soul!!) has been very complimentary of my lures... Not neccessarily lastly (but I'll stop here ) is that I have found a whole new level of enjoyment out of fishing.... I now rarely buy any lures from stores as I find that the lures I make are (usually...) superior to those I used to get at the stores... I am now branching out into soft plastics and even today I caught a four pounder on a worm I made myself.... The pride of accomplishment I felt after knowing that a good sized fish thought enough of my creation to eat it is absolutely amazing.... I'll never forget the first time I caught a fish (as small as it was...) on a lure I made myself..... That feeling never gets old or goes away.... Helping others with answers to their questions, links to sites that have product they're looking for and sharing successes (and maybe more importantly, failures!!) is part of what it means to be here... After introducing ACC to the folks here it has been really nice to see that it has found fairly widespread use as a topcoat, not only for crankbaits but for jigs and spinners also...
