mark poulson
I am just a hobby pourer, and only pour for myself and my buddies. Every time I get some new plastic, usually medium, I just try a batch with a small amount of softener, and if isn't soft enough I remelt it and add more. Once I get it right for that bait, I remember how much I added. I use salsa cups to measure.

toadfrog
This question is sorta salt to taste like fried chicken each to his own . I do all kinds of plastics for special projects salt water to crappie . My rule of thumb is 1 OZ softner to 1 cup plastic using hard formula as the base . Might try 3/4 oz softner using med as the base . Like I say most of us have worked out our own and it changes with customer desires too . Check out the tutorials got to be something in there on that .
ipt
all personal preference... your plastic is going to be a different level of soft almost everytime you order it. heres my advice: pour the same bait a few times, just with different colors. no softener little softener medium softener lots of softener and write down your formula, wait a few days and see which one you like. Frank
Just have not had time to figure out how to say this but with my plastic I use a weight for changing formulas. 8 pounds medium plastic to 1 pound softener will give me soft. 1/2 pound will give me med soft. But like everyone says that is to me and everybody is different. I know it is a large amount but I don't use less as it will vary a lot with small batches. gone2long
The only real way to obtain what you're asking is as stated try several batches with different amounts and right it down all plastics have their own characteristics so no one recipe works for all.
