Recommended Posts

will any glass beaker work or do you use a specific brand / kind

I found pyrex beakers ..... what size do you recommend

My favorite one is a 150ml one I bought from a science place. It is tall and almost as deep as a 4cup Pyrex. It is Pyrex brand.

Frank,

Thanks for that reply, I am obviously overheating the clearasol, I had it getting to 325-330 to get it where I thought it was thin enough to dip with...I will try the lower temp and see if I can get setup with something to maintain the heat with having to go back to the micro over and over.

At first I was pushing it to see what it take to get it to yellow. 360 ish and it yellowed pretty fast. I used a temp gauge and checked it against my ir gun. It was about the same. I left it in the plastic for awhile and it stayed pretty close to 310 315. The coating was thin yet tough and stayed that way for the whole time I used it. One thing I did not think I mentioned is on my griddle I put the the cup over the elements corner. This gives it the most heat from the element.
