nedyarb
Has anyone dipped a blade yet. Wayne Do you mean spinner bait blade? If so I will try it to see what happens.

A-Mac
I called GST. They said they would sell direct (since no Menards in Ft Worth), but it would be abou $40 just for shipping 1 gallon since it's considered hazardous material! Has anyone explored the Home Depot brands yet?
Nathan
Home Depot does have a similar product but I don't think they carry it in house...it's a ship to store deal...Nathan
Nathan
Just went in and checked...Home Depot has one called Eagle Gloss coat but it is a shipped to store deal....24.97 a gal and it has 25% solids...Nathan
RayburnGuy
Thanks guys. The cost of shipping is way more than I'd consider paying. If I decide to try out the Home Depot brand I'll let you know how it works out. thanks again, Ben
nedyarb
Never painted a blade before but I used craft paint. The red bled a bit, and I decided to try a buzz blade too. I will bang em around in a week and see how they hold up!
Cougarftd
I checked with the Post office...they won't ship. I'll check with UPS or Fed-Ex and see what they would charge...

I know this because it happened to me...must be something with red Edited August 26, 2013 by Cougarftd
nedyarb
Thanks for the tip, if I use createx red it doesn't bleed! But I think it was Anita's or folk art red.

scrubs
I'm going to try the Eagle brand from Home Depot since there's no Menards within 3 states. I was hoping for a satin but they carry high gloss only. bill
nedyarb
Before paint and four dips the spinner blade weighed 4.3 grams. It weighed 4.6 grams afterwards!
ravenlures
Thanks Nedyarb I bet a gallon goes a long way, like forever. I would put it in small jars and bloxgen it, just for a long time before I use. Thanks Wayne

The gloss is formed by the linking of long chain polymer molecules.

Vandy
Has anyone tried this on a wood lure yet?
nedyarb
I have used it on two balsa lures, and I am not 100% convinced its good for wood. It looks fantastic but after about six days it still feels just a bit soft. I fished them two days ago, caught fish banged the bottom and had no scratches but it just seems "soft" to me
nedyarb
Yikes, It's been 100 degrees these past two days. I leave my lures in the boat. When I just checked them one had a spot pull up off the back. If I wanted to I could peel it back I'm sure! The bill from another lure was resting on that spot. I will see if leaving them inside helps recure them?
Nathan
I just orderd a gal. rhersh
I have tried the gst on several baits and they are both soft. I hung them outside all day today in 95 to 100 degree sunlight and I am still able to mar them with my finger nail. I guess I will wait the rest of the week to see if they harden up, any tips would be appreciated.
