canuck
I live in Carleton Place ontario.I like to throw spinner baits dressed with a trailer grub tail etc. The extra barb that the banana type head provides as well as the added bulk weight of the head allows me to fish bigger blades withouit roll or constant tuning problems while fishing. I mainly target pike and bass. The heavier fish have proven damaging to the r type wire frames so I opt to using the closed loop wire in .040 gauge. My post is two fold. Firstly does any one know of a supplier of bulk 3/8 oz -1/2 oz -5/8oz closed wire bulk baits in the banana headstyle. Secondly would any one be interested in suppling me with a small order of each of these sizes. I have been weighing the cost of start up to melt and pour my own and it really interests me to get in to it but for the amount of baits I would actually use .Its not really cost effective at this time. If any one is intersted in suppling me or can advise me of where I can get them already to paint I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks

canuck
Hello Cadman. Thanks for the reply. I have how ever not received your pm. Could you re send it. I have verified my email address so looks ok on my end. As far as costs to order stuff in to Canada. Some extra costs are incurred eg taxes, ontario (hst 13%) and duties or tarrifs are applied , sometimes brokerage fees as well as shipping costs ( varies by weight and distance) . All of these total costs are a necessary part of getting the inventory that you want. We do not have the same in country suppliers as you have available.Plus you also have the advantage of free ground shipping available for continental usa by some suppliers . I wish it were different here cost wise but thats just the way it is. It dosent always make sense to order small amounts but larger orders are easier to justify the related cost of shipping etc. I am presently feeling out the cost of ordering against the cost of purchasing my own molds and starting pouring my own. Again for the number of baits that I will actually pour and use as a hobby fly tier lure maker /fisherman the cost may not be worth the out put of start up cost versus if I can find a supplier. I know and appreciate the make yourself satisfaction of the process and may end up going for it. But not untill I have done all the research and figured out the total cost etc. I was thrilled to find this lure makers site and am very greatfull to be able to tie into the vast knowledge base of all your members.I look forward to receiveing your follow up pm. Thanks again
cadman
I sent you another PM. Maybe because your post count is low, you are not able to get them. I don't know why. Anyway if you don't see it PM me your e-mail address. Edited August 12, 2013 by cadman
Curt - NC
You might also want to clarify what you mean by "bulk". Some peopel consider 10-20 pieces bulk, while others might not consider it bulk until it's over 50 pieces or more. This can make a difference when it comes to finding someone to supply you with what you're looking for
canuck
Thanks Curt. What you say makes sense. I would be looking for a supplier for say 20 heads in each size. My partner may want about the same. I will clearify what Our needs are after this up comming fishing tourney. Thanks
