Matt M
I was recently given a handful of old spinnerbaits. The skirts are shot and the jig heads need to be repainted. Is there a secret to removing the old paint prior to priming and painting?
Jig Man
I'd get some paint stripper, clean then powder coat if I wanted to remove the paint. On mine, I just heat with a heat gun then recoat with powder paint over the old paint. I don't bake them but the paint lasts a long time. Matt M
Thanks Jig Man. Paint Stripper did the job with a little help from a wire brush. I don't have the gear to powder coat. I have been making crank baits for about a year now. I am planning to use those techniques to revitalize these old spinners.
