Gopsy
I think that it plagues not only me. Going through a tackle boxes I cant beleive just how many fishing lures i have: In my 30 year's fishing experience I have: ~70 Jerk Bait ~15cm – Like Strikepro , Agat etc. 1x big box for Jig’s with eatable softbaits and worms Keitech , Reins etc. 1x big box with soft Bites bigger sizes 1x big box with spoons and spinners 1x box for cranks and twitch baits rapala, yo-zuri, MegaBass etc. And few boxes with stuff which I already do not use. Few times I done inventory and lot of stuff give away to younger enthusiast! And I still have some ideas what I should buy and to test … I always try create some self top lure rankings like others do: http://www.topfishing.com/lures.php?mode=top100lures http://www.profishingresearch.com/eshop/top_50_lures.asp But anyway opinion changes time to time and when I come to the fishing shop I feel like kid in candy shop What is your experience? toadfrog
You own to many lures when you have to have a small quadrapede with long ears carry your tackle box to the boat . Its for dang sure your name ain't Juan Valdez and you haven't been picking coffee .

ArdentAngler
If only there was a show about lure hoarders...that would answer your question of how much is too much. I feel this would actually cause more fisherman to go out and buy more because they realize "hey I don't own one of those!" good way to go in debt.
mark poulson
Now a clever husband would turn his lure making skills to fashioning lure earings to match his wife's favorite shoes, and would, therefore, be blessed in his lure making endeavors forevermore. This from a man with three exes! I guess maybe my mistake was I made them all matching brooms instead.
Don-Art
I don't have an answer. But as far Crank baits go. I often wonder how many of them actually catch fish on a regular basis. I could probably consider that 25% had Quality issues from the day that they left the factory. Another 50% worked ok with some tuning. And 25% were fish catchers right out of the box. It's a lot like the shoes. If they look cute or fashionable they buy them. When they find out that they really are not comfortable they end up collecting dust in the closet. Much the same as our unproductive lures. May be the question should be. How many lures can we buy for the cost of one pair of shoes?

Gopsy
Funniest thing is you have lot of them but You use only coupleof them or only one if it is good day. You creating your top lures for each water and case and it doesn’tmatter - you take all of them with you or just part. So there is some top like rating system http://topfishingbox.com , but for eachwater or season. But as I said it like narcotic at shop - you buy and buysome new or the same in different color, so I have good lures in several colors.Only way to test them is in bad day when you casting all the time without bite, but it is wrong because you can miss some good lure.
