Landry
Stumbled on this site as I started exploring handpours. Great info here! Lately got it into my head that I was gonna make my own dropshot baits as the ones I like cost 1$ each. Got info on here about pop molds and am gonna keep it simple to start. I did a trial hand pour using melted down baits before I order plastic and colors ... I am really pleased with the results. Thanks for all the ideas and now I have a new addiction. These baits r just as soft, shiny and lay horizontally - just like the originals. Those st clair bass won't cost me 1$ each now. I am going to resist branching out for now and just dial in the drop shot baits so I can keep costs down. I know that this new sickness will lead me deeper and deeper until I end up actually spending more $$$$. Melted the plastic outside on bbq. Need a microwave and mask for sure - would not do it again without - that stuff is nasty toxic. Thanks again everyone. I am gonna try to attach pics here. I tried a paddle tail too. Landry
I have them sitting on a plate coated in garlic fish oil. Is that a good idea or should I let them sit dry. I hear u should let them cure in the air. Advice needed. Thx.
Lonestarbaitcompany
I let mine sit in water for a few minutes then pull them out and air dry. Making your own molds get addicting quick! Remember water around hot plastic is extremely dangerous so keep your cooling tub where it cant be spilled (or dripped) into your plastic.
