Hokieangler Posted August 28, 2013 Report Share Posted August 28, 2013 Had a customer bring me a crankbait that had split top and bottom! I'm sorry to say it was mine! I painted him another tonight to replace it! Ony thing I can think of is that he had it in a very hot place and the air trapped inside expanded and split the bait! Any other thoughts? If so it could be the result of a problem in the way it was welded together or the result of incomplete fusion. I've gotten several baits wayyyyyyyyyyy to hot with a heat gun when heat setting the paint before and they swelled up like a toad frog, but none of them actually split open.
