Bassinjunkie88
What's the best way to make a smoke color?
FLIPPY
I use 1 cup of plastisol to a few drops of black..depends on how smoky you want it..
Baitjunkys
One drop at a time. Some colorant may take 20. Some may only take 1.
Painter1
There are some "colored smoke" colorants out there also like Green Smoke, Blue Smoke, Silver Smoke. You can get a lot of variety in that flavor. Good advice given above about 1 drop at a time.
gone2long
All good advice I'll only add that flake will darken the plastic a bit so do a test pour on a bait to see if its where you want it.
Bassinjunkie88
Sounds good...probably will just add a few drops of black with a little black flake and see what happens Thanks
mark poulson
I heat the plastic until it's clear, add my black flake, and then add black color drop by drop until I get what I want. Black darkens stuff fast, so I go one drop at a time, and mix after each drop.
XFactorTackle
1 Drop of LureCraft black per oz works best for me, but like others have said it's going to depend what your looking for really. Just play around with it until you get what your looking for.If your using Caney Creek X2, 1 drop per 6 oz or so will do the same so be sure to keep that in mind. Some colorants are stronger then others so results will vary. Jeff
nova
If you are adding black flake this will darken the plastic a little also and some black flake flake will bleed darkening even more; so be careful.
mark poulson
I've also found that adding the flake first is a better way to go, because it does change the color of the plastic, and I have to adjust the choice and amount of color I add accordingly.
