JoeyDaGreat
Does anyone have a link to a good crank bait cookbook/patterns? I have seen the one pinned on top but I remember seeing one on this site or on another site that had a lot of patterns. Thanks for any info
Griffond
Well there are some good ideas in the cook book I would also suggest checking the how to sections I would also say check out the gallery and if you see something in there you like just ask the person that posted the pic on how to do it or what they used
BobP
I've seen some on a European Musky/Pike site (don't have the URL) but it has been rare to see any detailed patterns posted here on TU. In fact the only one I remember was a Balsa Pro topwater walker pattern posted by Blackjack years ago. As a hobbiest, I often begin by copying a commercial bait that I like, then make tweaks to subsequent builds to tailor the bait to my inclinations. I don't feel you can copy a bait very effectively unless you have an actual bait in hand from which to take weights and careful measurements. So I don't mind paying the freight to get an actual example or two. I used to have a friend who had access to an X-ray machine to see what was inside and were it was placed - that was a huge advantage but unfortunately my buddy moved away. Custom builders who sell baits are not going to post a cookbook of how to make them. Hobby builders rarely have the software and/or the inclination to do it. Tree_Fish
Check out the tacklemaking section over at bbcboards, they have a couple of good threads with patterns in them

flyonline
Here's a PDF with a dozen different templates, including bib and directions. http://www.makewoodenlures.com/tempscollect.pdf This search also has a list of 20 odd templates and a build page for each. You'll have to go through them all as they're not readily recognisable by the name of the file. https://www.google.com.au/search?hl=en&as_q=templates&as_epq=&as_oq=&as_eq=&as_nlo=&as_nhi=&lr=&cr=&as_qdr=all&as_sitesearch=www.makewoodenlures.com&as_occt=any&safe=images&tbs=&as_filetype=pdf&as_rights=#as_qdr=all&hl=en&lr=&q=site:www.makewoodenlures.com+filetype:pdf&start=0 Steve
