I have not been a member here long, but I think TU is the best forum for tackle builders, painters and so on.

Jerry! I hope all your future adventures are as great as TU has been, best of luck to you, and thanks for your work here.

Curt! change is hard for alot of us old dogs :nuhuh: but I for one have seen a lot of change in the last 40 years with the company I retired from, both good and bad, but I know to be able to keep up with the changing of time things must change. So good luck with this site and I hope to see good things to come. Thanks for taking over for Jerry and keep the good work already done here going.

Thanks

Royce

Thanks Royce! Yes.. change can be tough for all of us sometimes. We will be handling TU with lots of TLC, so no worries ;)

Man.... I don't believe a lot of you guys. Your skepticism sucks. The ink isn't even dry yet from the deal and Curt has spent most of his time here blocking punches. Lay off and let him breathe. If you don't trust him... then trust Jerry. I do!  Let Curt get to work with his new toy. He's got stuff to do.The site is his now. It doesn't belong to us. He doesn't need to worry about what you think and he sure doesn't need your approval to do ANYTHING. The guy is trying to be polite. He made a purchase and now he is going to try and make some money... SO WHAT!!  We all need to make a living.  If you don't have something good or constructive to say then don't say anything.  Lay off and give him a chance.

I very much like the toy analogy!!   While I understand where you are coming from Skeeter I have to wonder......

Will this new toy be much of a toy if the members aren't happy at the playground?    Overall approval will most certainly be needed for this "toy" to be of value.    A broken toy won't bring in near as much money as toy that all the kids don't want to play with it.  If you get too many kids bossing the other kids on what they can and can't do does the playground end up with fewer kids?  I now to just avoid the big kids on the playground.   :halo: .

I really am not too worried, concerns sure, does it matter in the grand scheme of things absolutely not.

The bottom line is this site now belongs to Curt. It's his puppy and he can do whatever he wants to with it. And just like the neighbors puppy we don't have to worry about feeding it or carrying it to the vet to get it's vaccinations. We just get to play with it at our convenience. Personally I can't see him running it into the ground as he is a businessman and that would in no way be to his best interest. And just as Curt has said I've seen absolutely no difference in TU since he's taken over and wouldn't have known anything about it if he and Jerry hadn't told us. I don't know the entire story of what all Jerry went through to keep this place up and running, but have heard enough to know it wasn't the easiest thing he's ever done. Jerry said it was a tough decision for him to make and that he'd had several offers before deciding to sell to Curt and that one of the deciding factors is that he trusted Curt. And if Jerry trusts him then that's good enough for me. Like Skeeter said we need to give the man some breathing room and quit giving him so much grief.

just my :twocents:

Thanks Skeeter!

Let me make a couple of things clear, so there are no misconceptions. And I am putting this out there because I want to, not because I'm obligated to.

I am the new site Admin. I am not, however, the owner of the site. The site is owned by Lure Parts Online.

Jerry chose to sell the site to LPO for a couple of reasons. One of those reasons was that they (LPO) have the integrity of the site as a top priority. It does them no good to buy the site, come swooping in an make drastic changes that cause a mass exodus of the TU members.

The second reason that Jerry chose to sell to LPO is because he knew that I could handle running the site for LPO. I am not saying this as a vote of self-confidence or an arrogant statement to toot my own horn. But I have over 15 years of experience running fishing forums. This stems from me being the owner of www.northeastbass.com, which I built from the ground, up, and have owned since its inception back in 1999. Prior to that, I also ran a fishing site that ended up morphing into Northeastbass.com

I also own www.bassfishingphotos.com, Tackletest.com, FIshaboo.com (a social networking site for anglers) and a few other fishing-related sites. So I am not a novice when it comes to running fishing-related sites!

This is the reason LPO chose me and Jerry chose LPO... because he knew the site would be in good hands, being run by people (LPO and myself) who care about the site.

So... I am the person you will be interacting with and the person who is now in charge of everything here at TU. But the best part is that we have LPO behind us, backing us with their resources. This will allow the site's forum software to stay up to date and will allow TU to move ahead with new technology and enhancements.

Again, I didn't share this because I felt obligated to. I shared it because I am trying to be up front with everyone and help everyone breathe a bit easier when it comes to worrying about the future direction of TU.

I hope this sheds a little more light on things for everyone ;)

You can't ask for more than that. This should prove to any naysayers that Curt is an honest and up front type of guy.

Hi folks. I know this has nothing to do with TU and LPO. I texted Jerry today because he wasn't at work today, he had surgery on his thigh today because of an infection he had. He was hurting yesterday and running a fever and still came to work. They have been pumping antibiotics in him today and seems to be better. I told him I would check on him in a day or two but thought everyone would like to know.... Thanks...George..

George, thanks for posting this and letting everyone know. I didn't know about it until late Friday night, and I was away all day yesterday for a tourney, so I didn't get a chance to make it here to post anything about it.

As soon as I know more, I'll be sure to update everyone.

Thanks for reporting it. I deleted it as soon as I sat down at my laptop this morning.

I'll be taking a look at some new measures to try to prevent further spammers from getting in.

I must say , that I was pretty much surprised to see that spam post here at TU , ......compared to another lure site , that I do frequently visit , not many troubles with spam mails have occured in here , ...in fact I seem to remember not to have even seen a single one so far .

Thanks for taking care , ....greetz , Dieter :yay:

Well Curt its been a rough rocky road so far but the blacktop is right down the road. Welcome! I was one of the original moderators when the site was new. Too much biz came along and I had to pass it on. Ive been at this lure building stuff a very long time and I have never seen a site with so much outstanding info. I don't post much because the questions are always answered correct and in a timely fashion. Guys like me and Skeeter would have given anything for this kind of information back in the day. We carved them one at a time until we got what we wanted. Most of the time that took forever. Jerry, Thanks for everything. You have been a true man of your word. Heal up budro and prayers going up for ya.

Hey Bass Kat,

I usually don't post unless there is a question that hasn't been answered and I some how know the answer. Rest assured I visit the site everyday to see what going on. I have been very busy designing lures and paint schemes for Bass Pro Shops for the last 6 years or so. Its been a fun ride but it does bite into my tackleunderground time. I love this place and all of the people that visit here.
