Painter1
Does anyone here make a Largemouth Bass version of a Mr. Whiggley swimbait? Maybe 6 to 8 inches?

gone2long
Picture please. It's a method as much as it is a bait, Larry Dahlberg has a YouTube video series on how to make the master, mold and pour a "mister whiggley" pretty informative too. Painter1
Here is one of his video tutorials. I am just wondering if anyone is actually making these. If so, how well do they actually work?
toadfrog
I made one 4" similar rig couple years back . Where he twisted the wire around the tube I left it longer and twisted a hook on . Then burried the hook in the silicone mold for a molded in hook . Might add I did not make a seperate tail mold .Cuzz I'ma lazy old poot .
Painter1
How well did it work? I would love to try one out but don't want to make it and think a 10" model is too big. I would happily buy one to try if someone here makes them.
Painter1
C'mon, somebody on here is just dying to make some of these, and send one to me to for testing
Smallie
Does anyone know what the blue mold material is?
gone2long
Does anyone know what the blue mold material is? Hey Smallie I had the same question, the answer is: It is the Plat 55. The downside of the Plat 55 is that it is highly recommended you degas (vacuum) the rubber to remove the air as it is really thick. The alternative to that rubber in a silicone that does not require degassing is the Quick Set. This would be a much stiffer rubber that is great for 2 piece molds that does not need to be vacuumed. Note; It does not appear that Larry carries it on his site but it is on Alumilites corporate site. Smallie
Thanks Gon2long - I have been using OOMOO 25 for my silicone molds and it makes a flimsy two piece mold with it's 25 durometer. That quick set looks interesting and with the durometer at 40-50 will be significantly stiffer.

Painter1
He is a clever guy with a LOT of big fish experience. I sent an email asking if he minds if I fool around with making a similar lure. I still have to figure out how to rig hooks in it, but I will wait to hear if there is any heartburn about the project first. I'm guessing he would not have made a series of videos about it if he wanted to keep it to himself
Travis
I don't see you having anything to worry about with regards to that bait. Mr. Wiggly was found in many shelves at Wally World for a time period probably pushing 10 years ago before being bought out and discontinued. (but no eyes). The eye trick has been used for some time also on various baits (pen insert and smaller craft store eyes). I like his videos but it isn't anything I haven't seen here on TU over the years.
