10"+ Worm Packaging

Recommended Posts

Hi, everyone...

For what I do, 6x4 or 7x4 laminated bags have worked just fine for packaging my baits; however, I'm thinking about pouring some large worms. Would it be in my best interest to just buy 100 of the 11x4 bags? (I won't be pouring nearly enough to justify that many bags, but--you know--no one will sell me, like, five or ten.)

Has anyone packaged larger baits in smaller bags? What are the negative effects on the baits (assuming it'll have some shelf life)? Could they end up permanently misshapen?

Thanks, guys.

I inject a fully rounded,10'' u-tail type of large worm. I let them cure by hanging them vertically for 2-3 days ,then store them flat in a Plano box. They are salted w/ powdered salt on the outside..Powdered salt will dull the finish but washes off w/ the 1st cast to a shiny finish .I put them in a 7'' bag for shipping and have have no problems.

Note; i first tried this before shipping and have left them in the 7'' bag for a month during cold and  hot weather. i removed them and they were perfect. That said,i would prefer an 8'' bag in the future
