SNOWMAN CUSTOM BAITS
Do you guys use D2T over foil on your knock off or repaints? I have been looking for a chrome black back square bill for the last couple of years and can't find one so I built one. I use automotive clear coat and it doesn't cover up the seams to my liking. I have D2T that I use for other baits but I was wondering if the the thicker topcoat would hurt the action of the lighter plastic baits? I'm using the 1.5 and 2.5 ko's
RayburnGuy
Some folks do and some don't. After applying the foil I like to give it a coat of epoxy to smooth out the seams before painting. Auto clear isn't very thick and Is not going to level out the seams like epoxy will. I don't think you'll notice much difference, if any, by adding a layer of epoxy to your 1.5 and 2.5 baits. If your worried about it try the epoxy on one bait and then compare it to some you've done without the epoxy. Ben
nedyarb
Yes, I use d2t over foil. It hides the seams well. Also, dakotalakestackle sells these http://dakotalakestackle.com/programs/shop/simplecart.cgi?&keywords=&lst=13&lnd=24&category=Unpainted_Bodies&sortparam=st&sortasc=dsc&startprice=&endprice=
