Nathan
If you google Messinger Frog you 'll find a incredible fly tied by the late Joe Messinger. The legs are tied from bucktail and actually kick when the fly is retrieved. You maybe able to modify that to fit your needs....Nathan

Griffond
I have an antique fishing lure hanging up at my moms with a bunch of others for decoration at her house its a hard plastic body with rubber legs and when you pull the line tie the legs move backward... then you stop pulling and they slide forward there is a big single hook out the center back of the body and a small single hook in the middle of each leg... after some googling I found a picture of it Halik Leg Action Frog I have the one on the bottom... Here is a lure for Dieter to try and remake lol.
Don-Art
Another one is the Rhodes mechanical frog. A quick Google search and you can view the patent drawings. It dates back to the early 1900's Don
mark poulson
I'm thinking of how to adapt the Messinger Frog legs mentioned by Nathan to a hollow body frog. Nathan said the legs are hair tied around a wire that's then bent to give the legs the knee joint. I'm wondering how to get a hair-wrapped wire through the leg openings on a hollow frog, and then anchoring them in place. I guess you could put another bend in the middle of the leg wire once it's been threaded through, to keep the legs centered. Hmmmm...... Nathan
Mark, It's funny this whole frog leg thing has come up..I've wanted to tie this pattern for sometime and had just started researching it again...Like Bill said, I bet you may get more " spring" in the legs if you use heavy mono instead of wire in the legs... Thinman13
Hehe, I like that messinger frog, I was thinkin more in the lines of how Captain Ken makes them legs for his frogs? Has anyone ever tried them and caught big bass?

Nathan If you tie an overhand knot where you want the knees before you tie them, that should make them jump back to their bent shape after each pull.
