ACRon
My son has collected flies that were tied by his Great Grand Father, Grand Father, Father and himself. Some of the oldest flies seem fragile (hair is dry). Is there a spray or something he can use to help preserve these family heirlooms. He is going to be putting them in a display box under UV glass. Thanks, Ron
Anglinarcher
You might want to contact a museum and see how they preserve insects, old fur, etc. I have done some of this in my college days, using a vacuum chamber and infusing a super glue mist....... but that was almost 30 years ago. Still, perhaps knowing that museums do something like that might suggest a direction to research.
bassrecord
You might contact any of the classic Atlantic salmon fly tiers. The mostly mount just one fly at a time but since the materials they use are expensive and from extinct, exotic and prohibited birds and animals they probably have good ideas about preserving their mounts.
