Great first lure!

I've also painted my first lure, too.  Unfortunately while it surely is one of the most expensive lures, ever made it is also "The ugliest lure ever made".LOL.

Beyond the "wasn't a good idea spray paint",  I had major problems with my devcon 2ton.

Not complaining though,  You know what?!

it caught its first fish last night.

IN FACT, it even beat my goto bait!  though with just catching one fish, it could have totally been the right time/right place kind of thing.

not to hijack the thread. (sorry)   but now that the bulletproof devcon has started to whiten and flake off a little (after Just like 2 HOURS of use! ).  how do I scrape it off and try again??  Can It be done without  ruining the foil job underneath, (I have already written off the paint job)?

My experience with removing D2T, if it has already begun to peel, is to use an Exacto knife and keep peeling it off.

I'm guessing, based on my experience with Solarez, is that any rigid top coat is not the best thing to use on foiled baits, unless you're sure you won't road test them on rocks.

not quite "peeling" (I've sent that before). The coat is Hard. It almost seemed to chip away in places. I think the only answer in sandpaper. and I have premonitions that this is going to get quite unfinished in a hurry.

so something like the mentioned Eagle brand (MCU) is more recommended?
