fish4all
I have done about as much as I can researching what to get and why. Now I need to what brand covers what I want to do. I will do a little of everything with the airbrush but I will mostly paint plugs, blades and jig heads. Something that will, hmm, not easy to use but can be used with ease if that makes sense. I am not afraid of a learning curve but I don;t want o hassle with it if that clears things up. Versatile and reliable with steady air pressure for the compressor. Quite is a good thing but reliably not overheating and long lasting. I found this kits and thought it was a good base point to start for everyone to say it is too much, good enough or simply junk http://www.tcpglobal.com/itemdetail.aspx?itemno=ABD+KIT-SP7-20 Am I on the right track with this kit or am I looking at upgrading before I can get the fine detail I want to get for plugs and spinner blades? Price range will be somewhere from $100-$200 for a complete kit with compressor and airbrush. Don't care if it comes with paint or not. HickoryHollow
I just bought this same exact deal off of Amazon about 2 weeks ago for $99 with free shipping. I have used 2 of the airbrushes and like them just fine. I am sure the day will come that I realize how much better a more expensive air brush would be, but for now..........ignorance is bliss! lol http://www.amazon.com/Master-Airbrush-Multi-purpose-Professional-Airbrushing/dp/B006FQCBZK/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1383212564&sr=8-1&keywords=3+AIRBRUSH+SYSTEM Edited October 31, 2013 by HickoryHollow

I'd prefer that kit, if I were buying.
fish4all
Mark, gravity fed is the way to go in your opinion then? As for the kit, would you buy that kit at all or would you go for a better brand? The bottom feed will be good for me to learn a little on and let the kids try to learn on. Then i can move to the better ones or I will just use the gravity feed and the kids can learn with the other. Is there a kit you would recommend higher than the one I posted for under $200? I really doubt i will paint more than 500 anything inn a year so a $1000 kit would be a waste even if the kids get into painting a few shirts here and there, and me too. Cougarftd
I have had a master airbrush...fine for light use. If you want one that will last a long time I would consider Iwata. If you have a Hobby Lobby they run 40% off deals and you can get into a good gun for well under $100. Just a suggestion.

I'd buy the two gravity brush kit, because you'll get much more use out of them than a siphon brush. Be careful though. Your kids will catch on pretty quickly that you're holding out on them!
