ReflexionSwimbaits
Hello TU - I've been a forum lurker for a while and began a small side business hand pouring line through swimbaits last May. Things have really gone well since then and I am in the process of working out a very large order (over 500 swimbaits) to be sold wholesale to a retailer in another country. I've been good about handling my legal and business details here - have a business license and an accountant who helps prepare my excise tax filings. I am just wondering a couple things: 1. Customs - what should I be aware of as far as shipping orders below the duty limit of $1,000? is the duty limit calculated on wholesale value or retail value of the product? 2. Does an international sale handle the same in the book keeping as a wholesale transaction here with one of my dealers? 3. Nothing is as simple as it should be so I'm wondering what hidden costs there are that will eat my lunch if I'm not aware of them. Anyone able to address this? The order isn't final yet so I do need to exercise some discretion with the details but if more information is needed please ask or PM me.
