Kasilofchrisn
I am not a sofy plastics guy but figured this may interest some of you. Do-It has just made a deal with Gary Yamamoto to make an exact replica mold of the Senko. It is supposed to be exactly the same and will be available from Do-It very soon. Just thought it might interest some of you.

toadfrog
Of all the lures they could have choosen they pick a senko . Lordy Lordy
mark poulson
I'm guessing the licensing fee is pretty big, so they had to pick a mold that would be sure to sell, and they did.
ipt
not sure why they would pick the senko and put their own logo on it. i dont think anyone is going to be selling a lot of these with another company's logo on it. and their senko isnt even that great of a bait, the wiggle is all about the formula of plastic. so you can get the same / better results from any other stick mold on the market. if it wasnt branded with do-it i think they would crush it. RayburnGuy
the wiggle is all about the formula of plastic. so you can get the same / better results from any other stick mold on the market. Anyone think that Gary probably knew this going in and wasn't too worried about people matching his baits exactly? Thus the reason for selling the rights to his mold? The Doit logo in the bait was a requirement from Gary Yamamoto in order for him to sign the agreement with Doit.I am guessing to eliminate any confusion when people sell baits from this mold. Also people should be warned that the name "Senko" and the "Gary Yamamoto" names cannot be used when selling these baits. I am guessing with some trial and error a person could come up with a very close plastic mix that matches the original Senko or nearly so anyways. I have seen some interesting fish tank tests on youtube. Presumably from homemade Senko replica molds. backwoods1975
I guess its just nice that they didn't infringe on senko. Few others can say that
mark poulson
Gary got paid.........BIG TIME!!! Now he doesn't have to worry about sending threatening letters to small guys. He needs the money to keep up his penalty payments to Gene Larew for the salt inclusion patent case he lost. Hahaha

Kasilofchrisn
Are these new molds somewhere on their website? I've looked twice, but I can't find them. No these are not on their website yet. They have released them to members of do-it's webforum first and will then release them to the general public. They are offering an advanced sale to their forum members but those molds will be available to the general public in a month or two according to Do-It staff. big will's customs
just another stick mold. ive got 3 different ones now just because guys wont use but a certain one.
carolinamike
Guys I dont think Yamamoto has anything to do with it. The reason I say this is 5 years ago I was at the bassmasters classic and the GY pro was doing a demonstration of the senko at the tank and started out his demonstration by saying "and now I would like to introduce the most reproduced bait on the market". He turned knocking off of his product into product promotion, a very classy move if you ask me.
big will's customs
well mike you maybe right but I just look at it as there so many stick molds out now that its just another version.. would have been a real big deal if they would have released the GY mold before all the other companies have made thousands of molds past couple years
