jigmeister Posted June 18, 2004 Report Share Posted June 18, 2004 Just had a thought that maybe I could heat and bend an existing hook style to fit my needs but the times I have tried the hook turned brittle after heating . Richoc Posted June 18, 2004 Report Share Posted June 18, 2004 I bend hooks all the time.(1000's at a time) One of my designs has a hook that I have bend. Do not try and bend forged or tempered hooks. Heating it blow away all the tempering and most times the finish. I bend light wire hooks (mustad), trick is long slow bends with a round nose. Sharp bends break. How far out is this hook you need?
