jigmeister
Just had a thought that maybe I could heat and bend an existing hook style to fit my needs but the times I have tried the hook turned brittle after heating . Anyone tried this with better results? I suppose I need to perfect the tempering process to make this work?
Richoc
I bend hooks all the time.(1000's at a time) One of my designs has a hook that I have bend. Do not try and bend forged or tempered hooks. Heating it blow away all the tempering and most times the finish. I bend light wire hooks (mustad), trick is long slow bends with a round nose. Sharp bends break. How far out is this hook you need? jigmeister
I was figuring on bending about a 30-45 deg bend in a kahle hook to produce a wide gap jig hook .
