Darkman
for either your self or customers(for those of you that sell jigs) and what kind of swim jig do you like best, I know the Snootie jig is very popular (I know I like it) I was curious thank you
BassBull
The size I pour the most would be 5/16 in the CASTING JIG MOLD from DI MOLDS. This for me is the best swim jig out there by far. I have poured and painted hundreds of these jig a year because our toothy critters like them also. smalljaw
I like 3 of them, I really love 1/4oz casting jig or grass jig as it is listed, runs true and comes through cover fantastic! I like a poison tail jig is the 3/8oz size, in the smaller size it doesn't come through the weeds as we but the 3/8oz is a killer swim jig. And my 3rd one is the Snootie, now the snootie is one of my favorites for a few different things but as a swim jig I like the 1/2oz and 5/8oz size, the reason it is 3rd is because I don't like how the swim bait works on the smaller sizes but on the larger ones it is great but I don't often use that heavy of a swim jig, I reserve that for heavier cover and the few times I actually have to work a swim jig in 8' to 10' of water. cadman
My top three would be Snootie, Grass Jig and Poison tail. All under 1/4 oz. I personally like 1/8 and 3/16 oz.
DaBehr
3/8 oz grass jig for largemouth in the weeds and trees and the 1/8 oz Snootie for smallmouth when I'm fishing rip-rap or wing dams. I like the Snootie for smallmouth because if it hangs on the rocks I can put my rod tip straight up and rock it back and forth and 99% of the time it comes off. I get a lot of hits as it comes off the rock! It seems to me that the 30 degree eye on the grass jig "steers" better through the weeds with minimal junk hanging on and the 60 degree hook of the Snootie gives me that rocking action if it get it hung in the rocks. Jig Man
I probably use the 1/2 oz more than any other size unless the fish are really shallow then the 1/4 oz. My favorite is the poison tail.
Rip-n-Lips
I would say its a pretty close match between the poison tail and the casting jig from Do-it Molds. I catch more fish from the poison tail but love the looks and how they run in the water of the casting jig.
