andy1976
Harbor freights black should work for you. They are very helpful over the phone. I use a lot of candy purple and saw they have it with holographic flake also. They sent me nice little painted card free. I was super impressed with the color. I'm sure they can send you a few cards of each color your looking for. You don't have to by. a swatch.
smalljaw
It is hard to tell from pictures but if you call Columbia coatings they will help. The only color I wouldn't get from them is the matte black because Harbor Freight only has 4 colors and one is matte black, it is 5 ucks for a pound and it is a true matte black but for the others you will need to call. If you go through Columbia coatings site, try to find the matte colors, those are usually very close to what the picture is as there isn't any flash reflection like you get from gloss colors, good luck.
CObasser
Thanks Guys ...... another ??? I'm using a heat gun to pre heat my jigs .... is there a preferred temp to set it on ? how long do you pre heat it for ?
Darkman
not to long, max 30 seconds. I do it till the jig has a little shine to it, it you don't heat it enough you notice it right away, trial and error is the best way to figure out what's best for you
RAWJigs
I have a cadence I do in my head for heating my jig ... about 3 to 4 seconds each side ...
Tony Maxwell
I have always assumed (I know) that a matte finish will look shiny under water. no? I use a heat gun for jigs and buzz bait heads, rotating in low setting, no more than 10 to 15 seconds depending on the size and color. Yes, trial and error. Good Luck. I contacted them and they sent me some samples but they were a little different. One was too dark and the other was too light. BLT
If your paint smokes when you apply it, it's to hot. If it doesn't "flux" over when applied, leave it on the heat another few seconds.
CObasser
Thanks for the info Guys , what do you mean by "Flux Over " , like the paint will go smooth and shiny ?
BLT
Thanks for the info Guys , what do you mean by "Flux Over " , like the paint will go smooth and shiny ? Yes, if you tap or dip paint onto it, if is not hot enough, it will look textured. Fluxed over means the powder was hot enough to melt and smooth over. Hope I explained that right lol. Fatman
Don't buy the Dormant paint set!! Nice colors but it's a 2 part system dip color cure for 10 mins then dip in the clear and finish curing. Major pain in the butt!!! I'lll use up what I have but won't buy it again. There Translucent candy Teal and Raspberry are spot on when you look at their site. Saw a paint mix for your color on another site I'll see if I can find it again.
