ING
What is better for making jig casting mold: Ulracal 30 or 60, plain gypsum, silicon rubber etc...? Thanks
andy1976
Red high temp silicone is the best silicone wise. If you're trying to make jigs bondo is pretty good. You can mix a little fiberglass resin to make it easier to work with. I did a ten oz butterfly jig a few years ago. Poured a few hundred jigs with one and then moved on to aluminum cnc because I wanted to sell. Cost about a dollar per mold using bondo and you can get a lot of pours out of one mold. Its a good idea if you haven't made two piece molds to get on YouTube. Tap plastics and smoothon silicone have some good tutorials.
