ChaosPlastics
Hello, I am writing this forum to understand more about the use of items and materials that there are. I am what you can call a "pouring newbie" due to the lack of knowledge I have compared to people on this site. I wish to know what and how you use items like laminate plates and how they advance your plastic production. Feedback would be really appreciated. Thanks, Chaos Plastics
gone2long
A laminate plate is simply a plate that the manufacturer makes for the particular mold that allows you to shoot half the bait in one color and then allows you to reinstall the second half of the mold to shoot the other half. This is obviously for a 2 or 3 color bait with clean lines but time is important to get a good bond between colors to prevent "cold cracks" which is a weak union of the two and often results in the bait peeling apart. mark poulson
Most mold and injector manufs. have "how to" videos on their sites. Otherwise, you can probably find tons of videos for plastic pouring on You Tube.
Jig Man
You should spend some time reading the don'ts for newbies at the top.
