vishezfish
Ok, I made a one part mold for a jerkbait I made out of clay... I put the clay sculpt in from bottom to top ..... and waited for it to harden... ok, no prob... Now, melted some plastic and poured it in and it looks good, except for the top.... It doesn't have that.... qaulity look like the lures in the store.. That nice flat look, I had to trim, and I know i have to but how do u get that nice flat top out of it? It sounds simple, I made a few plastic one part molds and they are totally flat on the bottom, Y can't I get this jerk-bait to do the same?? Thanks fishmen!! Tm Customs
Just keep practicing, try experimenting with the plastic mabey it was not hot enough? Eventually you will get it down and won't have to waste time trimming excess. PS I suggest using Fiberglass Resing for making your molds you can copy a fluke or sluggo by gluing it down to a pan or box then pouring the resing over top, the next day you will be making some great baits. You can pic the resin up at Wal-Mart for 9.00 in the auto department Bondo Brand Fiberglass resin. Hope this helps, Tm
