CObasser
Did a search and didn't find anything, has anyone made a diffuser to spread the air flow out on the bottom of a fluid bed ? how did you make it if you did . i'm thinking of securing a thin piece of ridged plastic to the bottom of my powder cup and dripping a bunch of small holes in it ,
gone2long
I have a pump with dual outlets and have one bed unit with two air ports with one control valve. with a port one on each side of the unit seems to fluidize nicely. What did you have in mind when you say diffuse, some kind on baffle to control air in the base of your unit?
smallmouthaholic
The problem is your powder paint. Call Component systems(715-845-3009) and order some fluff or fluffy and mix it w/ your powder paint. Start w/20-25% fluffy. You'll be amazed @ the difference. LedHed
Think someone posted awhile back that they used a crumpled up piece of paper in their cup. Not sure why - most problems associated with the PP is resolved by changing the medium used with the FB cup. Never tried the fluff - hmmm................................ gonfishn
You can use heavy brown grocery bags, coffee filters (brown type), Tyvek type envelope sections from the USPS, etc. The best plate to use though is regular fluidizer plate, however, its very pricey and probably wouldn't be worth the cost with the minimum square inch requirement to order. Some folks may have a piece that they'd be willing to sell ya but even then, it's not cheap. Make sure you start the swirl if you're experiencing trouble, sometimes this helps. toadfrog
Oh brother , It won't really help . I built a three stage unit . starting in the bottom I put a plastic centrifugal fan that was mounted to free spin with air . Next stage was an air conditioner filter . On top of that was a cutlet of a vacume cleaner bag . could have saved my self the trouble had i looked up how much air force it took to turn the fan on it's pin . The force to make it turn was enough to shoot powder to heaven . Other than running two lines to the base I had no real success . I think I got the fan from an old hand vac it was a round top diffuser type where the veins were on a curveture . Fun to try and that is where I stopped . Didn't try a variable speed electrical fan . Might get rid of the pump system going that route .
