rhersh
Today I dipped 3 baits in GST, the 3rd bait had bubbles down the back. Has anyone else ran into this with GST? If so were you able to figure out what caused it? The other 2 baits had no bubbles. Thank's Royce Edited January 28, 2014 by rhersh
ChilliSpoons
I'm using a different Concrete Sealer product but I ran into the same problem the second time that I used it. I'm thinking that when I stirred the sealer I over did it and created the bubbles. I probably should have waited a little longer to allow the air bubbles to disperse prior to dipping,
rhersh
I never stirred mine. The first two were fine it was the third one that it happened to.
nedyarb
Was it a plastic or wood bait?
rhersh
It was a plastic bait.
Nathan
You said it was bait 3...I 'm betting you introduced the bubbles when you dipped the first two and let them drip back in the jar...Nathan
HAWGFAN
If it happened along the seam, you may have had a leaky body. The sealer would've displaced some air from the body cavity, causing the bubbles. If you over-heated and cracked the body, it could happen as well. My other guess is that your paint wasn't fully cured, and created a gas under the sealer.
Cougarftd
If you are letting it drip back into the container that could be why. I noticed when it drips back in the same spot it will cause bubbles. I let it drip over a plastic container and then pour it back in to the "dipping" container when I am done. rhersh
Nathan and Cougarftd I think you both nailed it. The next time I dip multiple baits I will not let it drip back into the jar. This morning I sanded the bait and redipped it and did not get anymore bubbles. Thanks guys for the replies.
