LIARS CORNER
where is the best place to get the best quality brush guard what steps do you follow when you put in your brush guard i got some brush guards that just fall apart while trying to put them in they are the right size for my jigs (1/8") but they don't seem to fit very well
toadfrog
Pinch them together and hit the end with a wood burner or solder iron . Pull out a couple strands before hand if the fit is tight .
RAWJigs
I had this problem with some brush guards ... go to fishingskirts.com, theirs have a welded end, and I love them!
smalljaw
If you didn't cover the base hole before painting you will have problems with the fit, but I do notice that some tend to be on the tight side and for those I just pull some strands off but make sure you don't pull the strands off from the same spot, go all around until it fits. Painter1
Some of the guards just are not round. As Smalljaw said, just pick some strands off.
BassBull
This is a extra step in glueing in weed guards but this is how I do it. I use DEV-2T for glue so before I mix it up I take and put on every weed guard a rubber skirt collar. This is put on the loose end. With my fingers roll it to as close to a perfect round circle as possible. This only takes a few seconds once you do a few and get a system down. So after you have the weed guards done you can mix your glue and your weed guards slide into the jig very easy and the skirt rubber makes it easier to spin the weed guard once in to fully spred glue in the hole. Put rubber skirt collar about 1 half inch from end. Have fun on the big pond today. STEVE

bass100
I do what Bassbull does but not for the weedguard instal but instead for storage. I cut skirt collars in half and then put them on the weedguards after they have been put in the jig. It keeps the weedguards straight and any weedguards that aren't straight will be after a little time in storage. Every jig I pull out to complete an order will have perfectly straight weedguards with no stray strands.
