adambarnes651
Has anyone ever seen or heard of a spinnerbait/buzzbait with a magnetic wire form?
mark poulson
No, but I use magnets to hold my loose blades on the deck of my boat, so they probably get some short term magnetic loading. I just read that heating one type of magnet to 175 degrees Fahrenheit will make it lose it's magnetic properties, so there may be manuf. issues with making a magnetic wire form. I get some magnets here, but I don't find any magnetically charged wire: http://www.apexmagnets.com/ Edited February 2, 2014 by mark poulson
cadman
I do have stainless steel wire forms that are magnetic.
adambarnes651
Thanks. I was working on a spinnerbait and buzzbait that has a magnetic wire form.. was wondering if anyone else has had the same idea.. I work at a magnetics factory and know the ins and outs of magnets. Was just curious. Thanks for the info tho!
adambarnes651
Have you noticed a better catch ratio with the magnetic spinnerbaits cadman?
mark poulson
I would think magnetic wire might slow down the spin on steel blades.
adambarnes651
Its only slightly magnetized, barely enough to attract small paperclips. it doesn't hinder the action of my blades. They Only emit a large enough field for the fish to realize something is different. Fish can detect magnetic fields, I'm just kinda trying to figure out if its for better or worse. I really appreciate all the replies on here! Thank you guys
mark poulson
I hope they do like it, because I just made a lure using them. Hahaha
