It shows that it takes an Eagle Claw 575 or 570 hook. I want a salt-compatible hook. I use a lot of GYCB hula grubs and twin tails, and they are loaded with salt. Do you guys know if there is a black nickel Mustad ultra point hook that will fit this mold, or some other good hook that's salt-compatible? cadman Posted February 2, 2014 Report Share Posted February 2, 2014 (edited) Mark, Yes Eagle Claw makes a black nickle finish hook #570B and yes Mustad makes a premium black nickle ultrapoint hook #32746NP-BN. Sizes start from #6 all the way to 6/0. If you can give me the model # of the mold and the hook and cavity size I can see if the hook fits with no problems. Providing I have the mold and hook. smalljaw Posted February 3, 2014 Report Share Posted February 3, 2014 If you go to Captain Hooks, there are 2 Eagle Claw hooks and they are as nice if not nicer than the Mustad 32746, they are the L570BP and the L3052 which are larger hooks starting at 1/0. You need to be careful as the 570B or 570BP is not the same as the L570BP, the L is for laser sharp models and the BP stands for black platinum, they made it confusing but the normal 570B is about $3.50 per 100 while the L570BP is around $9.00 and the same for the L3052, they are $9.00 per 100 also, so if you see that price you know you have the right hook. 1 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
