Musky Glenn
I went to my favorite lake in NC Sat. and couldn't get the blades to spin on my bucktail. I believe the clevis is to small for the wire shaft. Snapping necks
Did you try to pop it after you cast. I've had buck tails that needed to be jerked like I had a strike after hitting the water and the blades would spin freely after the initial jerk. Just an idea. smalljaw
LOL!!!!! Maybe the water needs to be a little softer, LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Musky Glenn
In western NC frozen lakes just don't happen often. That caught me totally off guard. Round trip, 2.5 hours of driving time. Just thought I would share that with you all. Musky Glenn

Musky Glenn
Snapping Neck, I guess you get all of the solid water you care for in Michigan. We have a year round musky season in NC. Usually we can fish for them the year round. Musky Glenn
Snapping necks
I've just gotten into musky fishing this year due to a buddy introducing me to it. I've only had a follow but man am I addicted. Started making my own lures as a result of the cost and of course love it. Only gotten a few spinners done so far but having guys like you as help is great. Thanks for the laugh!
ING
According the picture, blades are touching the skirt and it is preventing rotation. Made shaft longer and create distance between blades and hook with skirt. Another problem could be the same size of first and second blades. Try to decrease size of front blade. Is the ball bearing on the right place? Is the weight of body proportional to blades size? Submit the picture of hanging lure. It could help to define the problem. Cheer! ING, look at his picture, his blades won't spin because the lake is frozen.
kelly
I cant wait to see the fish that hits that topwater noise maker I bet even though you cant get them to spin there making just the right amount of sound for the fish to smack that bucktail. I can see the fish flying out of the surface after hitting it. Might not be much of a fight after that........
mark poulson
Try heating your blades. Hahaha There is nothing sadder than a ramp that's frozen over, unless it's totally out of the water, like here in CA. ING
I've seen that but blades has reaching the skirt anyway and skirt preventing rotation in the water. It will be useful to see whole lure in details. What clevis is used? S- clevis? Edited February 5, 2014 by ING
Musky Glenn
I know it is hard to tell what buck tail that is because of the distance from camera. That is actually a new Double Cow Girl. They are made as right as you can get. I'm sure if I had some liquid water to run it through it would work fine. ING
You could try it in the bath. It is could help a lot. You shouldn't wait for ice melting. I've supposed that it is home made lure. If it is Double Cow Girl from manufacturer it should work. They are testing their product. Glaucus
I've fished that pattern for snow fish before. Had a big tanker follow my bait. I figure eighted for a few minutes but the fish wouldn't bite. Next time I'll try a pirouette !
