Recreating A Skirt?

Recommended Posts

I am getting ready to order some tools and tabs and have a question about trying to reproduce a skirt that I like.  I think I have found the right colored tabs online to make the jig.  My question is...how do I know how many tabs or strands of each color to use?  According to the website, each tab has 22 strands.  Any tips and info would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you for the info.  I think I will just start with one tab of each color and maybe add a half tab of one or the other.  I will primarily be tying 3/8 and 1/2 oz jigs.

Just my opinion, but with those jig sizes you should be fine. I just tied up quite a few 3/4 and 1 oz jigs, and a 55 strand skirt looks skimpy, but then again a 1 oz jig in my book is really big and it does have a bigger collar to tie around.

BTW, really nice looking jig. :yay::yay::yay:
