hybridhunter
Has anyone had issues melting through their jigs? I've only soldered 25 blades and I've already had to shim the blade up to make it meet the hook shank correctly. I know you can use forecepts or alligator clips but it's a pain and is to time consuming. I love their product but I am losing the shape they have to hold the blades so fast it's not worth the money to me. Is there any other product that can withstand the heat out there? Kasilofchrisn
While I haven't used mine a ton I sure haven't had the issue you are having with it. I probably have made 100 or so with it, What kind of wattage soldering iron are you using. Mine is just a cheapo but works good and no mold damage. Also are you using rosin core solder? That is what is recommended and not the acid core. Other than occasionally having to clean a bit of rosin off of mine I haven't had any problems and it does work good to hold the parts and leave my hands free for the soldering. hybridhunter
I use a 140/100 watt iron. I only use the 100 watt setting for my blade jigs. Also, I use the flux core solder from Jann's.
