tjo243
I have seen several post about the lacquer called Alpha Cryl. It seems like the perfect clear coat and I know it is banned in the united states but can still be found. From my initial search I found quit a few RM Alpha Cryl products but i'm not sure which one is specifically used. The answer might be obvious but I don't want to buy the wrong thing. I posted the link to the different products I found. I was wondering if anyone had some experience with it and could lead me in the right direction. http://www.ebay.com/itm/1-Gallon-R-M-Alpha-Cryl-AT175-Gold-Acrylic-lacquer-tinting-base-paint-/290723273520
bassrecord
Google some more. R-M was bought out by BASF who carried A prefix numbers to mean acrylic laquer. One example showed it used on Alpha-Romeos back in the day. Personally I'd be afraid to buy 40 year old lacquer on e-Bay and use on my lures. There have been lots of improvements over the decades. I've got some 50 year old lacquer that wasn't too good when it was new. Why have I still got it? Sometimes I use it for color matching and shade comparisions. Good luck on your search and keep us posted on your progress.
