Senko Salt !

Recommended Posts

Hey fellow members,

I has been a long time since I poured some stick bait. I pulled the molds out and blew the dust of the molds. Please forgive me, I don't remember if I purchased Diamond Crystal Pop corn salt or Diamond Crystal Fine salt. I believe in 2007 a member on the subject told me to use diamond salt senko, I know it suspended  well and pours great. I forgot a lot of information on pouring and trying to recover my lost information. I was involved in a bad auto collision, The guardian angel saved my life. I'm coming around on pouring bait again for myself. I just don't remember on the salt details and amount. Thanks for members and Tackleunderground.

I had been using kosher salt that I had ground up in an old blender. It really changed the look of my sticks and gave them a cloudy ugly look. Tonight I tried the picking salt and did not grind it up . What a huge difference, the baits look much better. Thanks for the tips

Standard formula close to GYBC is

4 oz medium plastic
2 heaping tablespooms salt
1 tablespoon softener

Add salt after heating plastic and stir stir stir

Pickling salt from Walmart is good and bait can be fairly clear. Less durability though

Powdered salt suspends better and durability wont be as bad, but it tends to turn the plastic white and less clear
