Bassin901
I know the general reasons for wrinkling. My question is that after a bait has wrinkled, is there a way to reuse the bait or is the bait just trash. I am wondering if you could just sand back down and repaint. I know what my issue was. I probably didn't let the bait dry long enough. Thanks for any input.
RayburnGuy
I've only had one bait that wrinkled using an MCU. It was caused by solvent in one of the paints having a reaction with the solvents in the MCU. Can't remember if it was a plastic or wood lure, but I sanded it back down and painted it again with no problems. Ben
Bassin901
Thanks. I could just resand and paint. Wasn't sure. I think I rushed it a little.
Bassin901
After looking at the bait for awhile, I don't think it was the paint that wrinkled. It is actually the MCU that wrinkled. So I would sand the coat back down and reseal again. Thanks.
Cougarftd
That happened to me one time and I re-dipped it and the wrinkles leveled out
Kustom Krankz
this happened to me also- it only seems to wrinkle the white paint I was using- built a small drying box with a 100 watt light bulb inside and a thermostat to hold it around 100 degrees- dry the paint for a few hours and then clear and back in the dryer for 20 min. before second coat of clear- no more problems mike Kustom Krankz
