danthebassman
Sorry to ask so many id questions lately, but I think this is the last one. I am planning to place my first order tonight so I can give tying some jigs a shot and have one last color I cannot find. I think I have 2 of the 3 tabs in this skirt identified (watermelon candy dalmation/pumpkin green), but I cannot find the one with the orange glitter/flake in it. I have searched fishingskirts.com, but cannot seem to find it. Any tips on finding it or something close would be greatly appreciated. Thanks AGAIN. mark poulson
It looks like a mix of three different green pumpkin skirts. One with orange flake, one purple, and one green. I don't know where you can buy a skirt like that already made, unless you order custom from somewhere.
danthebassman
I am planning to recreate the skirt myself...or at least try, but I cannot find the skirt tabs with the orange flake. I will keep looking, I must just be overlooking it.
cadman
Dan, Try these colors from fishingskirts.com. It could be watermelon and orange or watermelon and copper. Check out these numbers #247 Watermelon and copper #437 Watermelon Green and Orange See if that works for you. danthebassman
Thank you...AGAIN. I think I will try the watermelon green/orange. It looks a little dark in the online picture, but it is really hard to tell the true colors from the online pictures. Hopefully I can attempt to start tying this weekend if my order gets here in time.
EironBreaker
one of the skirts is pumpkin green flake (#029), 2nd is watermelon candy. Fishingskirts has a dark melon candy (#157), no true watermelon candy anymore but that color will look good. Cadman's suggestion of (#247) would look good for the 3rd skirt pad. danthebassman
Sent in my order last night and will hopefully get to take my first crack at tying some jigs this weekend. I decided to go with the #437 for the 3rd color. Hopefully they will turn out ok. I will to post some pics after I get the first done...no laughing though! Thanks again guys. cadman
Dan, You may think your jigs are not going to be up to your expectations, but all of this takes a lot of practice, so don't beat yourself up over your first jigs. We have all been there and the more you do the better you get at it. Also one other thing to note. The fish really don't care if your jigs are perfect. I have caught a lot of fish with jigs missing eyes, half a skirt torn off and the fish didn't care. So be proud of what you accomplish and learn from everyone else here. danthebassman
Thanks Cadman. I am really looking forward to getting started tying. I think once I get the hang of tying I will try some powder painting too.
