joetheplumber
Wasn't really sure where /who to ask about this but here it is. I purchased some texas rig worm weights that you can put a jig skirt on and I just need em painted black. I paint crankbaits but don't do any powder painting on lead. Can I just paint them black and dip them in a regular clear coat to do the job or is that not going to work? They don't have to be perfect as they are just for my personal use. Thanks .......... piratefishing
Yes that should work. U could buy just a small amt of powder paint but with your materials that should work.

Richard Prager
I would slide the weight on a paper clip so as not to clog the hole and brush the epoxy on
mark poulson
Thanks piratefishing. Don't you just love our NC weather? LOL My daughter is in Toronto, and says it's still below freezing there, too. Here in SoCal I fished yesterday. We launched at 42 degrees, and it was 88 degrees when we got off the lake. Crazy weather!

mark poulson
I would slide the weight on a paper clip so as not to clog the hole and brush the epoxy on I tried that with some slip sinkers, and they were a bear to get off the wire after the top coat cured, because I had gotten some of the top coat on the bare wire. I had to carve it off with an exacto, before the weights would slide off. Edited March 17, 2014 by mark poulson
Richard Prager
Mark.............I brushed it on with D2T..........yeah you're not suppose to epoxy the paper clip to the weight! LOL
