Size Of A Hand Held Injector And Pouring Two Colors In Same Bait

Recommended Posts

Just wondering what size injector I should be using if I have a 7 cavity worm that is 5" long.  I bought the 6oz thinking I did not want to be too small, but I know see it is way big.  Then if I wanted to pour the back half of the bait one color and the front half another color, I think I would just have  two post of different colors ready, with two injectors.  Take a marker and fill a cavity. Let is set up and make a mark on the rod, then pour the other color right on top, but if the first color goes in and is not pushed to the bottom of the cavity, will the next xolor push it down?  I would think I almost need two guys with the plastic hot and ready for each cavity? I pour a top fill mold.

The easiest way to pour a two color front and rear color, would be to inject the mold completely with the first color cut the bait reinsert it in the mold and shoot the second color. I do this for Senko tails all the time. I have a video on two color flukes that I did with one injector, that might give you more ideas. Look up youtube channel lakehousechronicles.

I am unable to put second color on top of warm plastic, I have a huge under cut in the popper part.  I have to use set up baits or they will not go back in the mold. I could use two post and keep them both warm, I used a heat gun and heated the fill hole far a bit on each one.  Then poured new color. They seem stuck together? Would like to add a pic of it, but not sure how without starting a new post?  How Do I add pics to my gallery without posting  them?

Put them on photobucket and then when you select your picture from your gallery there will be a separate box over to the side that says "links to share this photo" click the part next to "IMG" and it will copy the text to your clipboard.  Come back to this thread and paste it into the comment box.
