mark poulson
There's a product that's called Bio Silk that is similar. Both Lurepartsonline and Skirts Unlimited sell it.

mark poulson
It's like a silicone square cut skirt, only out of the biosilk material, which seems to be some kind of rubber. I'm not sure what it is exactly, but it flares like rubber in the water, and it's not supposed to gum up like real rubber does.
smalljaw
Biosilk is silicone but it acts and feels like rubber, there is flatline rubber still available but it isn't frogs hair and neither is biosilk, frogs hair can still be had at living rubber dot com but I'm not sure if it is square, I'm not sure if there ever was square frogs hair but check out living rubber. Thanks for the clarification. I was wondering how it could be rubber, and not melt.
smalljaw
Thanks for the clarification. I was wondering how it could be rubber, and not melt. Mark, it is really good stuff, I use it on all my jigs in combination with regular silicone, I too liked rubber but I was so sick of the melting and finding a clumped mess after the winter that I started using silicone. Silicone is good and I like it but it was slower reacting than rubber but the biosilk now allows me to have 2 materials with different movement on my jigs while still using just silicone. It is neat stuff, for sure. I really like how it moves in the water. I also use it in combination with silicone. It makes a great accent color. Tony Maxwell
Sounds like bio silk may be similar to Lumaflex? Tony
smalljaw
Sounds like bio silk may be similar to Lumaflex? Tony Tony, biosilk is silicone, but it feels like living rubber in hand and it acts like it in water, I'm very familiar with lumaflex and biosilk is simply a silicone they were able to make that simulates rubber better than the normal silicone, they have classic rubber colors and electric colors which are brighter than the classic but no printed patters just like rubber.
