bucketmouth69
Just wondering if anybody has tried powder coating bladed jig heads ? I am trying to figure out how to do so and keep hook eye clean of paint. Of course blade not attached just hook and head Thanks !
flippinfool
Grab it by the hook eye while painting. Clean off any paint in the hook eye before curing. Once the blade is on move it around the hook eye it is almost self cleaning. The inside edges of the blade are sharp and will clean up quick. Kdog
Had a suggestion from another site that I am gonna try next time I have a run of pony heads. Suggestion was teflon thread sealing tape. Wrap it and heat then coat, easily removed after. My Go to method has always been hold the hook eye with forceps after heating to prevent pc build on forceps, dip swivel in water to quick cool, then dip in PC
mark poulson
I use cheap needle nose pliers to hold the line tie when I'm dipping in the fluid bed. They have smooth jaws from use, and have the eye shape from previous powder paint buildup.
bucketmouth69
Thanks guys for your suggestions ! I actually tried Kdog's Teflon tape suggestion and it worked beautifully ! Just wrapped the eye, heated , dipped in fluid bed and waited till it hardened came off as clean as if it was store bought.
