Ryno Plastics Posted June 1, 2003 Report Share Posted June 1, 2003 Just bought a container of Modge Podge for about 5 bucks at Wally World. I read quite a few posts on tacklemaking.com some time ago. I never got around to trying it though. I just applied a cote to a swimbait mold, hopefully the results will be good. I don't have any idea how many cotes I'm gonna need. Ryno Plastics Posted June 1, 2003 Author Report Share Posted June 1, 2003 Well...so far I'm pretty pleased with the results. That stuff is easy to brush on and it dries pretty quick. I'll probably let it cure for 48 hours before I start pourin' with it. Hopefully I'll have the same results. I'll keep ya posted. I just went out to the workbench to check out the mold, loved the results so I thought I had finally found the best stuff to use on my molds. Reaper, about how long does it take to peel off? And..can you keep applying new cotes after it starts to peel? Please tell me I haven't ruined an entire swimbait mold! If this doesn't work I guess it's back to Devcon. kidlizard Posted June 3, 2003 Report Share Posted June 3, 2003 We have learned the hard way........DEVCON is the only way to go. Try 2 thin coats and dye it with food coloring. This really helps you see how to pour especially those white baits. I personaly would let it peel then peel it of and devcon it. Either way your ok the mod podge just won't last. It won't hurt your baits either.
