Bubbadoyle
Thanks. That is what I ordered but a quart of it. I've been using ac1315 with mixed results. Hoping this is an improvement for me.
BobP
I still think Solarez is a great product ... for what it is: fast and durable. However, after topcoating a number of baits with it in the past year, I decided to give up on it for topcoating lures and now am using it only for undercoating wood baits. The low gloss and tendency to show wax haze just doesn't hack it for me when there are durable high gloss alternatives available. It's only a question of esthetics but... mark poulson
Bob, Have you tried the high gloss Solarez Bubbadoyle is talking about? http://solarez.com/p...er-gloss-resin/ I haven't tried it, yet. I'm still working with the first quart of the original Solarez I bought several years ago.
flipper2
Mark, I just ordered a qt of the gloss, it should be in this week. I'll let you know how it goes...
BobP
Mark, yep that's the one I have. If it cured truly clear and glossy, it would be great. But for me at least, the gloss is less than either epoxy or DN and I still can see some wax haze on dark areas so it just doesn't measure up - which is a shame since it's so easy to use. I use mine to undercoat baits, for which it is a very good product.
mark poulson
I like it for baits that will get beaten up, like my hard frogs. I don't mind if they are a little less than glossy. I can't really see the difference, except on black baits, and I doubt the fish care. I've been using this resin: http://solarez.com/products/low-voc-dual-cure-polyester-resin/
flipper2
I'm with BobP on this one. Cured fast and was easy to use. However, d2t in my opinion looks a lot better for a topcoat. I will only use it for undercoating the baits. Strong polyester smell....

BobP
Muskie, over the last several years, I've gotten Dick Nite in quart size cans for around $50. Did you use the discount page that Dick maintains for the use of TU members? http://www.dicknite.com/TU_Lander.htm
