mark poulson Posted April 8, 2014 Report Share Posted April 8, 2014 I spray mine with rattle can clear acrylic. It's to make sure the silicone doesn't bond, but it also smooths the clay a little. But getting it as smooth as you can first helps. If the clay gets too warm and sticky, put it in the freezer to cool it back down and make it easier to work with. squid Posted April 8, 2014 Report Share Posted April 8, 2014 Ive been using Sculpey satin glaze. I use 2 or 3 coats and sand REAL lightly after each one before final seal. No release agent needed.
