toadfrog
My mom's prize rooster and creepy crawlers are what got me into this wacky world of tackle . Here for your pleasure is the way I make creepy crawlers now . I'm an old fart but still a kid at heart .
alsworms
Nice! And I'll bet they catch fish too.
Anglinarcher
LOL, me too. I still remember the child hood kits you could buy in the 60's and always wanted a mold for "fishing" items.
toadfrog
Caught a bunch of fish as a kid . Most of them were on creepy crawlers . With the new plastics they work even better . Dangle one on a line and cane pole in front of a big ole bull frog and he'll larup the thing up in a second . If I'd been just a tad smarter I might have made it big in tackle . DaBehr
I wonder how many of use are into making our own plastic baits...because we loved creepy crawlers as a kid? I loved making those things! (and anyone under 50 has no idea what we are talking about!!!).
toadfrog
There are not any toys left a kid can really play with . Everything that is fun had a certain amount of danger . Heck I burned a finger or two . Taught me not to do the same thing again . Now nothing much is fun . May be why there are so many couch crawlers laying around that never leave home till they are 35 . toadfrog
Careful JSC your dating yourself . LOL Guess me too . To bad all us geezers can't get together in one spot with all or tackle stuff in tow . Bet that would be the biggest blow out the tackle industry ever saw . nedyarb
I'm 40 and have never heard of a creepy crawler.
Slammingjack
I'm 59 and I do remember them. So somewhere in that time line. Middle to later 1960's ? I think is when they came out. Not sure
toadfrog
The first models were 1955 . Then they escalated into assembly parts robots and things . Then spooky fangs and make up stuff . You can still find them at Toy max on the net . There are others links on that site . Hard to believe old guys still making those things . JSC
TF .. A " Big Blow Out" might be a disaster, Walking Canes, Crutches, Wheel Chairs and Etc. "Hi I'm Jim" 10 minutes later to the same person "Hi I'm Jim" and what am I doing here? You get what I mean otherwise you have not gotten that old. By the way I am not old "Just getting Older" ... Young guys look at my rod & reels and think what antique collection did he get that stuff ... Don't knock it .. It works. Spent enough on overhauling some reels to buy several new ones. I don't have any way to bring samples of my stuff to a gathereing What were we talking about any way ?? Sorry had a Senior moment
toadfrog
Oh my God I did start this thread . For a moment it was new to me . RayburnGuy
I must admit I was having trouble remembering the "creepy crawlers", but when you mentioned the "fangs" it all came back to me. I guess that classifies me not only as an old fart, but a forgetful one as well. Ben
toadfrog
Yep IT does . But we are the proud and the brave We'll at least admit we are getting a little long in the tooth .
Bassinfool
I don't know what you guys are talking about, I'm 23 and I used to make and fish with creepy crawlers all the time! Used to make the craziest colored worms and then go fishing with them out in the pond. Glad to see I'm not the only one who used them for fishing lures haha. RayburnGuy
Like a damn charm! I miss being a little kid. Heck, you can still be a kid even if you can remember nickel Cokes, penny Tootsie Rolls and have more wrinkles that a field full of sun dried raisins. flbasspond
No doubt Creepy Crawlers were awesome...but lets not forget the "spin-off" product - INCREDIBLE EDIBLES same concept but you could actually EAT the bugs, spiders, etc. Absolutely cooler than cool when eaten around squimish sisters!!
