So I designed a new bait, had it drawn and cut.  It works great, I use half the bubbles to get this one to float.  It is way move soft too. So it has a chug nose, ribbed body and a big paddle tail.  See video of it on my facebook page.  Mudd Butt Baits.

Being a huge topwater guy, I like it!  Very cool idea.

 

I'd say just make sure that camera's rollin' when you catch a fish on it, and you WILL catch a fish on it.

Looks great!  In a baby bass or bluegill scheme, it will get bit.

They did today, I used the sinking ones, not floating as the water is only 55.

I saw that you're located in Wisconsin so I didn't think they would hit on top but damn I sure wanted them to! Give it another month of this warm weather and I'm sure you'll have big smallies and LM alike tearing them up! Or send me some down here in Alabama and ill get some largies to tear them up right now;)

And I might add that water looks a lot like our San Joaquin River.......which is pretty much all I fish nowadays........and I know that bait would kill on it.

I see that being a good river muskie bait as well.

  Work over a weed bed in a long slow section of the river, and I'd put money on a musky taking it.

really nice ..lots of action on top...a nice minnow laminate would do it for sure..maybe  slowing the retrieve down alittle more when the water warms ...id like some...

I saw somewhere that a guy has a patent on a cuped head like that on a soft plastic bait and he was going after anyone that used this design so you may be infringing on somebodies patent.

I saw that guys deal on another site. It only claims the popper in a cone shaped bait.  I have a patent on file in the hunting industry and am in no way worried about that guy coming after me.  Patents in the bait world are worthless, but thanks for the heads up.

Yup......I kinda cringed when I read that, too.  Some of these guys mean business.

You are right, if you are going after the profit of the big guys, you are asking for trouble.  Being as I designed this bait and have never seen another one, I am not worried about infringing anybody.  If I copied a bait then yes I am with you.
