FrogAddict
I usually don't start topics but I've looked and haven't found a post that addresses using tackle box divider plastic for crankbait lips. While I could go and buy lexan or circuit boards, I have a tone of tackle box dividers and have used them to make lips on a couple cranks but I haven't had a chance up north here to fish them yet. Has anyone else tried this? I'm guessing they aren't as tough as the other materials. Just looking for your wisdom!
Griffond
I tried it once on one prototype shad bait... the rocks in the miss ate it up... not sure what the lakes in ND are like... sandy I would guess or muddy? I've just started using aluminum and find that super easy to work with and easy to find any hardware store has it for like $3-4 for a 4-6ft piece of 1inch wide. by 1/8" is what I bought they had thinner and thicker as well. mark poulson
I've used them for wake bait bills and as turning vanes (bills set at 45+- degree angle in the side of the head) for rotating top water baits that rest on their sides, and then rotate up to vertical on the pull. I wouldn't use them for a crank that would hit rocks or wood, because, to me, they are too soft.
FrogAddict
I made a couple with them but after seeing the comments here I just bought some from Jann's. Griffond, I fish in minnesota not in nd so I will see rocks and wood. Edited April 29, 2014 by FrogAddict
